Biomimetic Enamel Remineralization: A Comparative in vitro Study of Self-Assembling Peptide, Fluoride Varnish, and their Combination at Different Times by Surface Roughness Test

Aims: This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of self-assembling peptide, fluoride varnish, and their combination remineralize artificial carious lesion in vitro. Materials methods: Sixty extracted sound premolars were randomly divided into four groups. The was created by immersion specimens demineralizing solution. enamel surface treated with: Group1: (n=15) saliva alone, group2: group3: group4: peptide + varnish. assessed a profilometer at baseline, after demineralization, 1-week, 4-weeks remineralization. Results: all groups exhibited high statistically significant differences between different times test periods, In 1 4 weeks remineralization, least roughness mean value seen varnish group followed then while showed greatest with highly difference Conclusions: superior remineralization ability this potential is boosted when they combined together.
